Why We Fight

The Flue Fighters are not just some chimney guys that show up to your house like any other service company.  We are brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, fathers, mothers and humans.  When Ben started this company he wanted a genuine experience and relationship between customer and service technician to be a pillar.  As a homeowner, he hated when “sales/service” people would come into his home, hit him with a spiel, and lacked human emotion or connection.  Flue Fighter technicians are educated, professional, polite, and trustworthy.

We understand why you called us and what our role is in your home.  Our team takes pride, accountability, and responsibility in our own lives so you can feel good knowing we’ll do the same for you and your home.

Who Are the Flue Fighters

Ben Seidman

Owner

Certifications
CSIA, NFI, FIRE
Ben hails from the Sunshine State. He attended college locally at Brevard College where he studied Wilderness Leadership and Experiential Education. After graduation, he hit the road and lived in California, Utah, and Alaska before settling back here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. He managed several Zipline/High rope courses in the area before a short stint as a cell tower climber and then finally joining the NC National Guard as a combat engineer. With the guard, he and his team have taken first place in the Minuteman muster and as an individual, took third in the best warrior competition in 2023. With three years of industry experience, countless hours of continuing education, and several certifications, Ben took the leap to start his own business where he can truly serve his customers and community with education and warm homes. He and his team are passionate about what they do and are excited to grow and become household names. Ben lives in Leicester with his wife, 4 dogs and son.

Bret

Co-Founder

Certifications
FIRE
Bret was born and raised in Port Orchard, Washington. He grew up splitting and stacking wood every summer to endure the cold winters of the great Northwest. His family would stoke the wood-burning stove all winter long, which brought them great memories, warmth, and comfort. At the age of 20 Bret joined the U.S. Coast Guard to become a Helicopter Rescue Swimmer. After hundreds of rescues, he retired from the Coast Guard in 2018. Bret now resides with his wife, two kids, and dog in Fletcher, North Carolina. He has worked with FLUE FIGHTERS since October 2023 and is passionate about the abundance of comfort a hearth can give to a family, if in proper working order.

Lindsey Seidman

Office Manager

Born and raised in Asheville, Lindsey attended App State before settling back down in the Mountains.  In 2017 while working at a vet office, she saw Ben and asked him out.  The rest is history.  Together, they have a son, 4 dogs, ducks, goats and chickens.  When they are not working on the homestead or the business they are enjoying themselves in the woods or maybe just relaxing on the couch.
